Arjun Dedicates an Anjaneyar Temple in Gerugambakkam, Chennai

Recently Raghava Larencce dedicated a Raghavendra Temple to the public. And now Action King Arjun, a devotee of lord Anjaneyar is building a temple for his favourite God in Gerugambakkam, Chennai. To install in the temple a huge Anjaneyar statue, measuring about 23 feet and weighing 15 tons was sculpted by experts in Hubli in Karnataka at the behest of Arjun.

Since Arjun wanted a monolithic statue, it took him nearly a year to find such a stone and it took another four years to sculpt it. The Anjaneyar statue, which is in Padmasana position, will be the tallest Anjaneyar statue in the world a in that position.

The statue is being transported to Chennai from Karnataka in specially modified 160-wheeled truck.

Actor Arjun constructing Hanuman temple in Gerugambakkam

The construction of the monolithic Hanuman temple in Gerugambakkam is going on at a steady pace and I’m sure it will be one-of-its-kind. The statue of the deity is in a sitting posture and weighs around 160 tonnes. It will be installed in a fortnight’s time.

The Single stone statue is in 28 feet height and 12 feet width with the thickness of 7 feet…"

The actor has allocated one acre of land in Peru estate for this idol. Ashok Gudiger, a Bangalore based sculpture artist designed the temple and statue. In this Temple, the statue shows Hanuman in sitting posture. The sitting posture of Hanuman statue is first of its kind in India.

Sri Neelakandeswarar temple at Gerukambakkam (Chennai Navagraha Sthalam - Kethu)

Sri Neelakandeswarar temple at Gerukambakkam - தொண்டை நாடு கேது ஸ்தலம்(Chennai Navagraha Sthalam - Kethu)

This is being considered as the Kethu sthalam for the Navagraha ( நவகிரக ) worship. It is located in the Porur - Kundrathur Road.

At the left hand of the entrance we can see a separate Snake idol being worshipped as the Kethu shrine. The Amman strikes your sight and attracts your attention as it is facing the entrance. So, big, majestic and beautiful! is this Aadhi Kamakshi Amman. Only those who see it can believe it!!

Recently, Tamilnadu Tourism has made arrangements to organize package tour to all 9 Navagraha Sthalams around Chennai and hence the turnout of people is gradually increasing here.
